Caleb: Didn’t take anything that wasn’t mine, officer.

Hanna: Are you leaving?

Caleb: I thought you’d be relieved.

Hanna: Why would you think that?

Caleb: Because you’ve been treating me like something you scrape off your shoe. At least, since our shower.

Hanna: Look, I know. I just—I wasn’t—

Caleb: Ready to see that much of me?

Hanna: No. Yes.

Caleb: Now you think you have to throw down, too?

Hanna: What if I don’t want to?

Caleb: That’s okay.

Hanna: (pauses) What if I do want to?

Caleb: That’s… okay, too.

(Caleb signals to Hanna, Hanna follows him out into the hallway)

Hanna: I can’t do this right now.

Caleb: This phone is out of my league. I can’t crack it, and I know you’re dealing with a time issue.

Hanna: You’re just gonna give up? This is important!

Caleb: Why? Why are you breaking and entering Jenna Cavanaugh’s phone?

Hanna: It’s none of your business.

(Caleb gives her a look)

Hanna: How’d you know it was Jenna’s?

Caleb: Because I’m not blind.

(Hanna sighs and rolls her eyes)

Caleb: Are you gonna get over what happened yesterday morning? ‘Cause I can have that tattoo removed.

Hanna: I don’t know what you’re talking about.

(Hanna takes the phone and leaves)

(Spencer hands Caleb Jenna’s cell phone)

Caleb: Where did you get this? The year 2020?

Hanna: It’s for someone who can’t see.

Caleb: Okay. Well, someone who can might need to call NASA to turn it on.

Hanna: Uhh… Take however long you need. 

Spencer: (interrupts) No! Take an hour. It has to be returned as soon as possible, or the person who… borrowed it might be in trouble.

Caleb: They should be. Stealing a blind person’s phone? That’s sick. What do you like to do for fun on the weekends? Break old ladies hips?

Hanna: You know what, just give it back to Spencer as soon as you’re done, kay? 

(Hanna smiles then turns and leaves, Caleb leaves as well.)

Hanna: (to herself) Okay. Pick up the coat, move stage left, and then push him out the door.

Caleb: (enters kitchen) Can he have lunch first?

Hanna: I… wasn’t talking to you.

Caleb: Oh, you have someone crashing in your attic, too?

Hanna: No, I’m learning my lines.

Caleb: Can I help?

Hanna: No.

Caleb: Can I… make the sandwich?

Hanna: No.

Caleb: (leans against the countertop) So, how was the rest of your day? Mine got off to a really strange start; I was taking a shower—

Hanna: (interrupts) Yeah, you know what, you can make a sandwich, and you can eat it too! I have to practice being drunk. (gets up to leave)

Caleb: (stands up) Can I help?

Hanna: No! (leaves kitchen)

Hanna: (through the door) Caleb, can you hand me my mascara?

Caleb: I’m in the shower!

Hanna: (sticks her head inside) Can I just come in and grab it?

Caleb: Sure.

(Hanna walks in)

Caleb: You know, if you guys clean this shower head, you could have amazing pressure.

Hanna: (looking for her mascara) Go for it.

Ashley Marin: (approaching washroom) Hanna? Is my phone in your bathroom?

Hanna: Uhh-I-I’m in the shower, mom!

(Ashley steps inside, Hanna jumps into the shower. Surprised, Caleb turns to her and Hanna puts a hand over his mouth)

Ashley: I was halfway to the bank when I realized I realized I didn’t have it. (looks at phone and wiggles charger) What is with this charger? I only have three bars…

Hanna: I-I really can’t talk mom, I’m getting shampoo in my mouth!

Ashley: Okay. All right, see you at dinner. (Leaves bathroom)

(Hanna sighs and removes hand from Caleb’s mouth. He turns his back to her, while Hanna checks him out. Turning back, he catches her)

Caleb: (smirks) You wanna share a towel, too?

Hanna: She’s gone!

(Caleb enters kitchen)

Caleb: Morning!

Hanna: How much did you hear?

Caleb: Between you and Mommy? Not much. (Pours cereal into his hand from an empty cereal box) I will, uh, put some groceries on the back porch. My parting gift.

Hanna: (rolls eyes) Caleb, chill. I’ll talk to her. She’ll come around.

Caleb: Said the girl with poor judgement… to the Cat in the Hat.
